How do register for RSL?
Go to the RSL-Edit form and click on the link "Getting Started First Time Users." Fill in the boxes. You will need to list three choices for a nametag allowing for the possibility that what you select already has been chosen. The nametag is the ID that will be used for you online. It must be eight characters or less and consist of all numbers and/or lowercase letters. The nametag must be unique so if you choose three that are already in use, you will be told to select three new ones.
Select your password and enter it twice to verify it. When finished, click on "Request Nametag." An e-mail will be sent to you verifying your nametag and password, and you will be taken to the RSL-Edit form. Enter your personal data at the top and the surname data in the form. Click "Post Updates and FINISH" when you are done.
How do I change my address?
Go to the RSL-Edit form. Enter your nametag and password and click on "Edit RSL Data." Make changes and click "Post Updates and FINISH" when you are done.
How do I get a forgotten RSL nametag and/or password?
As long as your e-mail address is valid, you can receive them through Password Central.
If you forget your nametag, you can also retrieve it using the "Search for Nametag" form here.
You can receive a forgotten password if you know your nametag and your e-mail address is valid by entering your nametag in the form here and then click on "E-mail Password."
If you can no longer receive e-mail at your old address, use the form here.
The program allows you to change the e-mail address on the account, but it also sends an e-mail to your old address and locks the account for three days. This is a security measure to prevent someone from changing your address without your permission. After three days, you can use the above methods to retrieve your nametag and password.
What do I do if my password does not work?
Check to see that you are using the correct nametag and password. Follow the links to search for your nametag or request your password be e-mailed to you using the form here.
Passwords are case-sensitive and must be typed exactly as they appear in our file. The upper case (capital) I (eye) is especially problematic as it is next to impossible to distinguish it from a lower case L or the number one. If you cut and paste the password into the form, be careful not to add any spaces.

Can I change my password/nametag?
Yes, click here. Fill in your nametag, current password, and your choice for a new password, then click on the "Update RSL Data" button.
However, we do not recommend that you change your nametag, as researchers tend to save the nametags to check those databases again. If you feel you must change it, use the form here to request assistance from the HelpDesk. Be sure to include your current nametag and several choices for your new one in the event what you want is already taken.
Is it possible to merge two RSL accounts?
Yes. Use the form here and be sure to give both nametags and indicate which one you want to remain after the merger.
