Getting Started - The First Week:
What to Expect in Your Mailbox


You may find it helpful to print this page and check off each task as you complete it or become familiar with the process.

As an administrator, you will see an assortment of e-mails telling you when there are problems delivering mail to a subscriber, posting messages to the list, or processing a request (such as a request to subscribe or unsubscribe from the list). Take a few minutes during this first week to read through the help pages pertaining to problem solving. They will help you understand the source or cause and what actions, if any, you should take.
You may see e-mails from researchers. The most common reasons they will write you are for help with address changes or for help subscribing/unsubscribing from the list. Read the help pages on address changes (Maintaining Your List) so you are prepared. This week, focus on the common problems you will see; return to the help pages for more complex problems if needed.
You will get e-mails from nobody@rootsweb.com when you use the List Tools to subscribe or unsubscribe addresses. Read the help pages on using List Tools (Maintaining Your List) so you are prepared.
