RootsWeb encourages you to subscribe to LISTOWNERS or NEWBIE-LISTOWNER mailing lists for at least a week or two after becoming an administrator.

If you are the administrator for a mailing list in the communities area, you are encouraged to subscribe to the COMMUNITY-ADMINS mailing list.

Major announcements to administrators are distributed through the LISTADMINS-ANNOUNCE mailing list, to the e-mail address shown on your List Tools and utility page. You are automatically subscribed to the list when you become an administrator.

Announcements are also posted to the HelpDesk pages, including less crucial ones that don't warrant a mailing through the LISTADMINS-ANNOUNCE list. For example, if a server is temporarily down.
