Mailing List Administrators:
Locating or Changing Your Password

List administrators need only one password-the one used to access the List Tools. The confirmation letter you received at the time you became an administrator shows the password for the list.

If you are having a problem with your password, recheck it again for capitalizations. Passwords are case sensitive; the program will not recognize b and B as the same letter. Other common errors are mistaking a capital o for a zero, or the lower case L for a number one.

There are two ways to retrieve your password if you forgot it or you want to verify you have the correct password. They are outlined below. With both, the password will be e-mailed to the address we have on file for the mailing list administrator. If the address on file is not active (it has been closed and/or you cannot receive mail through it), write to listmaster@rootsweb.com for assistance.

  • Access the List Tools using the address shown below, with xxxx being your list name. Try to log in by entering a password. If the password is incorrect, you will be sent an e-mail that contains the correct password.

  • Enter the list name in the search box shown below, which will lead you to the Utility Page for the list. Use the option to request that your password be e-mailed to you.

If you are the mailing list administrator for more than one list, you may have a different password for each list. If so, repeat the steps for each list.

You can change your password by using the "Change List Admin Address or Password" section of the List Tools.
