Customize settings: Send "Help" Files to Subscribers Researchers sometimes use invalid methods when trying to subscribe or unsubscribe from a list. If you choose this option, the mailing list program will send a "help" letter when it interprets the message as a request for information or help. The letter is only sent when the person writes to the "request address" (LISTxyz-L-request@rootsweb.com, for example). You cannot edit the help letter. If you want to preview the letter before choosing this option, send an e-mail to xxxx-L-request@rootsweb.com (substituting the xxxx with the list name). Type "help" (without the quote marks) in the subject line, and on the first line of the message area. Continue to: |
